Dos and don’ts...

Dos and don’ts
Quick everyday tips……
Dress the ways you want to be addressed. Your dressing sells you so... There isn’t a second chance to give a first impression. Things to consider when dressing:
1.       Wear weather appropriate clothes- This is very important because Nigeria is a country were you see someone putting a blazer on under the hot sun or using a sunglasses at night. Biko which sun are u protecting your eyes from at night abi moon don dey blind person ni...
2.       Dress according to the occasion: whatever you wear must tally with occasion say for example when attending stuff a business gathering, an interview or the like a suit would be appropriate…
3.       Always iron your clothes- Even with our electricity problem in some parts of Africa notably Nigeria we should always try to avoid putting on rumpled cloths.
4.       Avoid wearing dirty clothes- This one ehn.. don't even get me started on my experiences with people who put on dirty clothes in public transport. Pls avoid other people enjoying the stench coming from your clothes. I think we all know when our clothes are dirty and not to be worn.
5.       Always have a neat haircut.
6.       Avoid wearing your trousers below your waist (sagging)- All I have to say about this is 'Are you a prisoner?'
7.       Always use a perfume or body spray- Pls this one sef join all my body odour experiences with people in this country. We must always try to smell nice at all times.
8.       NEVER wear stripes on stripes nor pattern on pattern- This is a mistake most people make mixing the same patterns or wearing striped clothes on eachother. Although their is a new trend on how to mix strips (We would make sure we communicate that with you) but pls avoid strips on stripes. You really don't wanna be looking like a Zebra
9.       Always polish your shoes and please do use leather cream
10.   Never wear ill-fitting clothes- This is just putting tight clothes on and on this regard we should always try to dress according to our weight.

Random extra stuff to complete your freshness
1.       Brush your teeth well plus remember to clean your tongue too as failure to do so would cause some embarrassing scene.
2.       Air your shoes often. This helps take care of any foul odour, just imagine you have got to take off your shoes (for whatever reason) and as you take them off a foul odour accompanies…just imagine.
3.        Always carry around a clean white handkerchief.
4.       You may just decide to take along some minty sweets they serve as quick fix for not so good breath
5.        Its good to have a pocket perfume which would ensure freshness at all times.

Hey there, this is welcoming you to the best fashion and grooming tips ever. No matter your stature there’s something that can show forth your good looks. This is a continuation from our last post and we are really sorry we went back on our promise and took a long break. We are now back and better so make sure you tell a friend to tell another friend that The Best Man is back and running. Thanks!!!
11.   A t-shirt
12.   A tie
13.   A pair of slip-ons (palm slippers)
14.   A pair of shorts: and yeah everyone can wear shorts. Gone are the days when it was WRONG to wear shorts anywhere outside the beach. As long as them are not too mini.
15.   Countless underwear (either boxers or briefs): sure you question the fact that underwear should be countless. ‘As guys one or two should do’, well the thing with that is it wouldn’t take long before they wear out. Ideally you are to wear two boxers a day to keep good hygiene.
16.   A wallet(to help keep those naira bills in good condition)
17.   A polo shirt(it can take you anywhere)
                                                                     Others may include:
18.   A wrist watch
19.   Cufflinks
20.   A bow tie
21.   Suspenders or braces: most appropriate for loop less trousers
22.   Sun shades
23.   Card holder
24.   Snap back or pone cap
25.   Hand wears such as hand bands, hand beads etc.
These are the necessary things you should have. If you have most of these things you are good to go.

The 'every guy essential'

Good afternoon gentlemen of the world, hope you’ll have had a wonderful week? This is “The Best Man’s” first official post and its simply what we think or rather suppose every guy should have.
The first is ‘A WHITE SHIRT’- This is very essential because it serves both important purposes which is it can be worn both casually and also to formal outings like interviews.
Onto the next essential of a guy which is a pair of ‘BLACK PANT TROUSERS’- This is very important because we here are of a very strong opinion that if you don’t have this item that can be paired with anything then you have taken a step forward to been a fashion backward person.
The third important item of clothing a guy should have is ‘A BELT’- Whether ‘black’ or ‘brown’ this is necessary because pls “if u no get belt, wetin u wan dey use hold ur sokoto”. With this in mind make sure you also have a black or brown shoe to match.
Another item of importance is at least ‘A PAIR OF JEAN’. This is preferably blue because “man must to get jeans wey e go dey nack about naa…, abi wetin you feel?”
The next essential is ‘A PAIR OF CHINOS’. This is needed because there are times when a guy wants that feeling of been casual and my friend chinos are the answer rather than wearing jean to work.
The sixth essential and very important item of clothing is ‘A BLACK SUIT’. It can always be another colour but a suit is very important. The essentiality and importance of a suit is stressed because it can take you to any formal event at any time and I have a saying that might interest you, it goes thus, ‘a good suit would or can make men open doors for you’.
The Seventh are ‘BLACK SHOES’. I think everyone should know the importance of this but it is still included before some would say ‘mensfashionoutlook.blogspot.com’ did not say so. It is important because black been a neutral colour can go on any other colour it is paired with.
Yes, this next one is really important and it’s not one but ‘A COUPLE OF INNER WEARS’. Whether it be a singlet or a round neck it is important and please not just one but a couple because we preach cleanliness here.
The ninth is ‘A PERFUME, BODY SPRAY, ROLL-ON, ROLL-ON STICK AND AN ANTI-PERSPERANT’. This is essential because every guy must smell nice at every point in time and not only that, must always try to avoid sweaty underarms.
The last but not the least is ‘TRADITIONAL WEAR’. As Nigerians we should always try to represent our culture, tradition and ethnic group. A casual wear can take us to most places but not to all places.

To be continued...
